Blood Wounded Flowers S/S 10

(photos by Bella)
(Inspirational Board)

One of many reasons I love Blue Onion Marketplace luxury boutique is the tremendous versatility each piece invokes when you least expect it. Sifting through the dynamics of experimentation and innovative design, alongside the webbing art of styling/accessorizing, it's comes down to the blueprint details. So, it's no surprise that when owner, Michele Syre, contacted me, I was thrilled with the opportunity to collaborate and reconstruct the Dulken & Derrick Flower Pins she'd sent over. The only obvious answer was yes, but with vertiginous elation, I assure you.
After studying each piece and drawing from personal inspiration, Alex and I spent the afternoon immersed in our little craft vessel. Entranced. Moody. Entertained.
Ultimately, the decision to integrate some of the ominously-evocative elements of designer Carol Christian Poell as well as Dior Homme S/S 02 Boys Don't Cry/RED Collection solved all those contemplative expressions. Delving into the etherealization of Dulken & Derrick, haunting rock, wounded love, classic Chanel, pretty vs. painstakingly dirty, and a menswear slim-fit silhouette, we counterbalanced our own interpretations against such a list of exquisite designers.
We couldn't be happier with the end results. Thank you Michele... you're amazing!!!

I love the way you formatted everything...normal photos followed by the groups of polaroids. There's a wonderful dark romanticism to all of it. Your shoe shots look great. Of course the feather flower... And you finished it off with a smile! :D The inspiration board is great, too! Wonderful work, love!!!!!!!!!

My Shoeosophy

It’s a simple fact where I come from that when you can’t get what you want… you get things. However, after several joyfully unstructured and sometimes plot-driven moments, commonly referred to as getting things , it’s beginning to feel as if I’m stockpiling for the apocalypse or something. And I begin wondering…. what do the clever women of the world do in these paramount, mission provoking, and slightly unadulterated pursuits of love, sex, style, and practicality… and there was my answer, as clear as day. We buy shoes. Ankle boot, Bakers.

Fairy Light and Wind

We were in rare form this (particular) afternoon... watching as the skyline opened a whimsy of dust and light that poured through the lofty treetops so far above everything else. There's a certain symmetrical elegance that lends to the mindset of the images, thus largely ignoring the semi-unflattering caveman antics of being carried back to the car.
