I'm fine, thank you. - Margot Tenenbaum

(Watercolor, 2012)
New artwork from the past. Based on one of my all-time favorite characters, the ever-sullen, infamously secretive, Margot Tenenbaum.

Prints now available.

The Writing Wall

Affronted by a (practically) nonexistent warning sign, the weather-beaten plastic dangling idly from a nearby telephone pole, clearly stated, Private Property . Even though our previous attempt at this location resulted in a prying patrol car… the graffiti mural, a derelict carcass of a once prominent amusement park, was obviously too wicked to pass blindly. Sprinting around with certain schoolgirl giddiness, the ridiculous amount of camerawhoring was starting to feel like some new Olympic sport. But before finally fleeing the scene, we noticed the black and red letters smeared across the far right side of the building that perhaps claimed an excuse to previous visitors. ' The Devil Made Me Do It' . Disturbing to small degrees, it did seem outwardly apropos to our deviant trespassing acquisition… our forbidden spray paint entertainment. (Vintage sequin butterfly shirt, Betsey Johnson tights, F21 skirt & jacket, Bakers fringe boots)

And then the spell was cast

It’s a bit unsettling the degrees to which I pined for these boots, but when ChloĆ© decided to morph their fall 07 ready-to-wear collection into some angry-girl with mortal combats… I just couldn’t resist the very lucid temptation. And after waiting rather impatiently to watch them work a little black magic , I can finally justify their funky charisma that really is simply irresistible. *Midway through the photo brigade, we got a bit loopy and then couldn’t settle on favorites… so ode to pictures galore, we're still not camera virgins* (VS hoodie, Topshop tank, Steve Madden studded belt, Vintage Levi's-DIY shred/studded pockets, Chloe boots, ebay sunglasses)

All the wired little flowers

The last several days definitely haven’t been lacking in the “interesting” department. And while I’m frantically trying to put my finger on the pulse, in the noisy background of necessity, there’s distractions-a-plenty. Everything’s bouncing from slow motion and straight into overdrive… rinse and repeat. Backyard get-togetherness, True Blood dvd hunting, Corona with lime, exploring the intricate layers veiled within my Nikon D5000, new poetry/short stories, a thousand and one errands to run, veterinary appointments, Popsicle remedies vs. ridiculous summer scorcher, a pair of lace-up Jeffery Campbell boots, ten submission deadlines, blah-etc.-blah, and then I realize… ohmygod, it’s only Wednesday. (Vintage scarf and bangles, Gap denim, Go International skirt, Urban Original heels, Juicy Couture tank, Hot Topic gothic rose ring)
