Toy Soldiers

Like a shadow, some things lurk. And much as the weekend, mutually quiet and eventful… nothing and everything makes sense when draped in funky sugarplum fairies and twinkling lights. Not our best-laid plan, we being the blithe adventuresses of the family, joined ranks with all those holiday cheermeisters and staunchly faced a teeming shopping blitz. Inextricably, the scheming afternoon wrath of cart pushers, window peekers, road ragers, and zany bargain seekers , was one such lurking moment. A harmonic hysteria of present-persuasion and shopping grandeur, I muddled through an amusing/frightening mirage, loving the extreme pandemonium… no matter how catawampus it all appeared. But like some freakish optical illusion climaxing a jolly North Pole sequel, its inevitable dusk till dawn tradition leaves me feeble-minded. So, while hunting holiday gifts and embracing yuletide paradise, I couldn’t help wondering… are we gluttons for punishment or just eager to come out and play. Who knows, but...

Counting tree rings among the leaves

You can never have too many carousel rides, too much family shenanigans, or too many silver chains wrapped around your ankle boots... Awesomeness: Okay, so I admit, when my girl Liz--the unbelievably cool, wickedly witty, gorgeous babe--over at It's Unbeweavable so thoughtfully suggested I do a Guest Post for her lovely blog… I did an unabashed little happy dance (Zeppelin in the background) and subsequently jumped, as if spring-operated, at her amazing invitation. Despite sounding like a broken record, thank you-thank you-thank you! Face Time with Red Wine

Through the looking glass of a little green Beetle... Unaffected, I paid little attention to the insufferable ambiance that lent a mere 22 degrees or to an audience of six casual observers who felt it mandatory to applaud the larking about of my camera love child. So we clambered into the cold steel of one such orphaned shopping cart and went on our happy way. Special thanks to the lovely Vicen for featuring me in LOOK 10 ... thanks a million sweetie!
