When the most important thing of the day is taking a photo of pink flowers... finally enjoying some time at home doing nothing.  Uh, bird lady.    When tangerines and grapefruit mingle and give you HoneyBells.

Fine little cinnamon rolls & my handmade arrow tea towels just hangin' out. There goes my diet... but the house smells so good.

Morning light and painting potions in the studio.  Abelia's pink bells. Stretch.  Kitty silhouette.  Backyard bumblebees! Hunting. Finding. 

Vibrant True-blood oranges, a color palette almost certainly influenced by my all-time favorite HBO series that's unfortunately ending.  Okay, so maybe there's a little Dexter inspiration in this photo too. Organic flowering teatime all the time. The result of a recent thunderstorm... this beautiful rose branch decorating the art studio. My garden is not happy about it.

New friends.  Miu loves being in the studio as long as it involves nudging and purring until I stop what I'm doing and focus entirely on her... so it's a great day to be a bossy cat.   It's a beautiful day to lounge in the backyard with this gorgeous fresh fruit and my favorite Old Man cactus. 

Hard to resist this face... and totally worth interrupting their lunchtime to say hello.  Bromeliads! Radiant  fuchsia night skies.  Way up there, ferris wheel . Getting lost in these gorgeous colors. 

Even though the sudden chill in the air compels a layering of jackets & hoodies we'd nearly packed away for the summer, we're still making time for lingering walks & pretty countryside delights.

Busy working away in the studio on this sunny afternoon, I had to pause for some quick tulip devotion. Happy Birthday to this little Jillybean stinker. 

  Hydrangeas in bloom.   Walks that lead to this.    Moody morning views.    Bison chin scratch at Lone Elk Park.    "Nope."  Baking birthday cakes and wrapping presents. 

Last year, hidden away in a dusty corner of one of my favorite antique stores, I discovered this decorative wooden bench. The $20 price tag and carved details were too good to ignore and I quickly scooped it up. Even with its (original) dingy blue legs and worn crushed velvet body, I hoped that one day I could restore its soulless existence into something more appealing. After a little black paint and the beautiful design of this hand-woven Malian mud cloth, it looks better than ever!

I was about to relax with some  Zhena's Coconut Chai Tea from World Market when the usual scenario began playing out... I started photographing it instead. Clicking away behind the lens, I found myself ruminating over the (made from scratch) projects I'm so eager to share with everyone, that is, once all the particulars are ironed out.  Between new drawings, writing about other artist's drawings, conceptualizing paintings & the medical qualms a wee bit cumbersome for this simple blog post, I received an incredible package from India. It took all of a minute to settle on using it as a momentary prop. With a distinct combination of burnt orange mud-wax emerging from the pale, hand-woven textile & the mess of postal stickers endorsing its long journey, it was almost too beautiful to open. Almost.
