Collected

"As she came closer to him she noticed that there was a clean fresh scent of heather and grass and leaves about him, almost as if he were made of them."

All About Colorful

Seasonal love. Color bleed. New painting in progress! Almost a little heart in the center. ♥ **** it, one of each.

Maggie Magnolia

This is happening outside my studio window... Maggie has her first magnolia blooms!  Yeah, we're weirdos and name, like, everything around here... plants, paintings, squirrels, birds, bunnies, flowers, and even trees.

Just That Pink

Easter Sunday

Flowers Hide Everything

Tulips are better than one. ♡ Hope you're a having a wonderful day!

Experimenting Pinks

Working on a new painting... I'm curious to see how she turns out with these pretty muted colors I created.  Playing with flowers. Happy weekend, sweet ones!

Bottled Wildflowers

Decorating my art studio with a myriad of hunted treasures is something I never get tired of doing. Old bottles, new bottles, broken doll parts, butterfly wings, and dried flowers from the garden seem to be staples on the nearby wooden shelves that embrace my painted canvases, as well as those yearning for attention. One foot in an antique store, or even browsing the internet, and I know there's trouble at the forefront... I always find something I feel I can't live without, something that can't live without a spot on my shelves. With a natural, slightly rustic, aesthetic, transforming wine bottles (and other things, like old shoes) into vases is another favorite, so when I spotted this beautiful 2010 Belair-Monange St. Emilion from JJ Buckley , I knew all it needed was a handful of wildflowers.

Naturally

Vibrant True-blood oranges, a color palette almost certainly influenced by my all-time favorite HBO series that's unfortunately ending.  Okay, so maybe there's a little Dexter inspiration in this photo too. Organic flowering teatime all the time. The result of a recent thunderstorm... this beautiful rose branch decorating the art studio. My garden is not happy about it.

Photo Diary

Peaceful garden views and terracotta pots.    Our Aphrodite Althea is in bloom!   Breakfast light.   Hand-picked wildflowers for every corner of home. One more studio shot from the other day .  I just told her we're watching True Blood tonight.

Afternoon Bliss / Jillybean's Birthday

Busy working away in the studio on this sunny afternoon, I had to pause for some quick tulip devotion. Happy Birthday to this little Jillybean stinker.
