Thornebury Glimpse

I've been locking myself away in the studio, working like a machine, and leaving many other things like that of a scarecrow... tired and dusty. With all the ideas hovering about inside my head, harassing and encouraging me unvaryingly, I don't see this ritualistic behavior stopping anytime too soon. But in lieu of this fact, there are a number of paintings to come that I'm excited to share with everyone.
Here's a glimpse of one of the pieces I finished about two weeks ago. Her name is Thornebury.

Home for the Holidays

Santa Baby, I realize you've been particularly busy, what with the elves bogarting the majority of your time with notorious marshmallow fights and the sudden reinstatement of hot chocolate… not to mention those other precarious activities involving one sequestered sleigh bell. Let’s be honest, Dondor throwing his back out during that impromptu flight simulation and the sticky candy cane incident with Blitzen no one’s talking about, certainly has caused a rift in your mission-provoking schedule. But if you'd please FedEx/USPS/UPS the following items to my Christmas tree this holiday season, I’d genuinely appreciate it. Obviously, I've been exceptionally bad… I mean good and only moderately naughty this year... a few misdemeanors, bar fights, F*** you slip-ups, madcap coffee addictions, and obsessive online shopping-revelry certainly doesn ’t warrant a stocking full of coal, right. Anyway, Santa, without appearing overzealous, there’s no time like the present to m

New Drawing ▲ From the Earth

From the Earth Here's the fifth drawing in my nature series! It's been really fun experimenting with charcoal and I'm excited to move forward with some new colorful pastel work. If you're interested in owning any of my original artwork, please shoot me an email... and prints are always available in my society6   shop.  First drawing: Silent Forest  Second drawing: The Main Light  Third drawing: 21 Nights Fourth drawing: Moon In Your Eyes

Vivienne Westwood, Sid and Jules B

There's no denying it, Vivienne Westwood radiates character. Enough so that not only did I decide to add her to my Charcoal Series but her intrigue makes me want to stroll about Buckingham Place in a tattered Sid Vicious t-shirt and a pair of platforms I'd almost certainly collapse in. Her iconic vision and cultural movement of contemporary punk is carried by few and the simple strike of small black and white keys forwarding a Google search proves an easily perceived reality that only she looks good with carrot-tinted locks.  From her extraordinary Sex and the City designs in the 2008 film adaptation, highly publicized political involvements and jaw-dropping runway spotlights, her intrepid creative arsenal remains untouchable. I took some time browsing through the collection of Westwood designs over at  www.julesb.co.uk , both Anglomania (oooh, this ) and Red Label and somewhat unsurprisingly ended up hypnotically engaged in the accessories  line. Have you seen them.
