Vintage Lollipops on Instagram

Don't forget to check out all the fun progress art I put on Instagram ... in a lot of ways, it's like spending an afternoon in my studio. Happy weekend, everyone!

Rumi in graphite

It's been a while since I held a pencil in my hand for more than just a basic pre-paint sketch. So, I decided to put down the watercolors, temporarily, and heavily work the graphite and charcoals in a new, currently untitled series... at least until those pretty colors start beckoning again. Inspired by Rumi Neely of fashiontoast and a photo by Colin Sokol, I sent this to her week...hopefully she likes it even more than the last . Prints, iPhone skins, throw pillows and more available here Since I'm in the process of several new pieces, including new additions to the Blogger Series, EVERYTHING in my art shop is 25% off from now until Christmas! So scoop'm up so I can buy new art supplies!    Use the promo code SHOP25 at the checkout. Enter Shop

Margot Tenenbaum- in progress

Working on and musing over an upcoming piece based on one of my all-time favorite characters, the ever-sullen Margot Tenenbaum of The Royal Tenenbaums (portrayed by iconic Gwyneth Paltrow).

Art sale

Hurrah for a sale section!  If there's a specific piece you're interested in that you'd like added to the sale, send me an email.

Julia Sarr-Jamois Afro-chic

Ayanna is an exclusive custom piece I was recently hired to create for one of my clients, and admittedly trying my hand at runway-inspired fashion illustration has been as interesting as it has been exciting as it has been daunting. But the final result is exactly what we both hoped it would be (deep sigh of relief).

Watercolor Wonderland x Nasty Gal

Still in shock...  Apart a from my  instagram  sneak peeks, it's been torture keeping this secret, but now I can finally share the amazing little fact that yours truly was featured on the one and only Nasty Gal (falls out of chair)!! When I was first contacted by NG and asked to design a few exclusive illustrations/paintings, I'm pretty sure my response was some highly intelligent verbiage falling along the lines of, "Wha-um-can't breathe. OMG am I dreaming?" But okay, here's a totally cliché moment... dreams come true! Read my Nasty Gal feature here!!

Oil and water

In case you missed these little ladies on Instagram @bellablueberry and Facebook , here's a sampling of what's currently devouring most of my time. Well, this and the treadmill.

Pyramid light

Little peek at my latest watercolor painting in the Fashion Blogger Series! Don't forget that to be part of the upcoming artsy giveaway, you have to be a Vintage Lollipops and @bellablueberry instagram follower! xoxo

Art Shop Launch

Click the image to enter my shop!  I'm super excited to announce the launch of my official art shop! This is a new destination, where I'll be offering one-of-kind artwork direct from my studio! Since each piece is the original painting and not a print, availability is extremely limited... so I hope you'll visit and see something you like! xoxo Have a great weekend everyone. xoxo

Diving

Delving deeper and more intensely into detailed watercolor. This piece took about three hours.

Mila experiment

My third day experimenting with watercolor!

In progress

Here's a peek at another illustration I'm working on! Her name's Patrice, and is one of four in the "Sister Shades" series. Oh, and finally Instagram !

Hair like cotton candy

Now available on society6 !

Twins

Playing with vintage treasures and new illustrations...

Vogue Italia

Delving into one of many over-fed art folders, I stumbled across this fashion illustration from last year... it's actually one of my first attempts at drawing. It's probably not the best representation of my fanciful aspirations to one day actually illustrate a cover for Vogue, but I hope you like it nonetheless!   Inspired by Dioni Tabbers by Ellen von Unwerth for Vogue Italia July 2010

Shipwrecked Antoinette

Before the sun was fully awake, I found a quiet moment, while the puppies temporarily ceased barking, and thought I'd share this Marie Antoinette inspired illustration just for fun. I finished her somewhere in the vicinity of a month ago... hope you like it! ♥ Happy Friday ♥

Lady Gaga + Garden Hat

Garden Hat: One of my latest illustrations, inspired by Lady Gaga, is now available on Artflakes  and Society6 ! (Graphite and charcoal on Canson paper)
