Holiday Photo Diary

Painting progress: Glitter and finishing touches to her little peppermint wonderland.
So many little faces in the studio.
Hot chocolate!
Pretty Mab Graves Christmas card from my beautiful friend and Editor-in-Chief at beautiful.bizarre. Thank you, Danijela! I love it!
After a long day of last minute Christmas shopping, this was my snuggle time view.
Calorie free goodies and antique polkadot mushrooms trimming our tree.
We had a wonderful Christmas filled with love, happiness, and complete silliness... there was also a lot of kitchen dancing to a musical soap dispenser that Alex and I confiscated from Mom's house. I'm so grateful for every cherished moment.

I love all of these pictures and hearing about how you spent the holiday season. Your preparations are gorgeous, that hot chocolate looks delicious, and I'm glad there was lots of dancing in the kitchen! xox and Merry Christmas, dear Bella!

I love seeing your work, it's beautiful and I simply can't get over it! I really enjoyed seeing these photos and was pleased that I'm not the only one who enjoys decorating my Christmas tree with mushrooms.

The Pinnacle and Pants d’jour

Firstly, I want to send out into the land of blogosphere Lovelies, an enormous thank you to Saray , Fashion Dreamer , and Sera-louise for thoughtfully tagging me. Cyber hugs all around! In other world news, while sipping coffee over my usual laptop garnish, I was contacted by the Editor of Writer’s Digest. A paragraph of black letters and a millisecond later, I was a finalist in the 77th Annual Writer’s Digest Writing Competition. A week later, still unsure of my respective category, the certificate finally arrived… and as if by some serendipitous act from the writing otherworld , I’d been one of the lucky chosen (from more than 17000 entries) to receive an Honorable Mention in the Children’s/Young Adult Fiction category! It doesn’t take much to make me happy, but in these moments of near psychotic jubilation… my only recourse is to instigate something I like to call, Shopper’s Delight . And while the blustering winds and semi-damp weather strong-willed this outfit, I felt an obligator...

Mad Hatter's Club

Must've been feeling a bit Guns N' Roses... With the celebratory catawampus winding down like an elderly jack-in-the-box leftover from the fades of childhood memory, we meant for a subdued and only mildly scandalous New Year’s Eve. A slight difference from the model of fulsome traditions, our intimate dinner party--fully fledged in the company of my love child camera, tippy top hats, and cocktails--came in with a whisper and went out with a bang. And as I stare to the horizon of 2009 and to all the rock’n possibilities sauntering forward with the New Year… a smile washes over. And into this vast internet superhighway, warmest wishes go out to The Minx and Fashionably Early , both ever lovely (!!!)… thank you for my blog awards. Colin Stuart ankle boots. Tripp studded gloves and shredded skinnies. Vintage (faux) caplet. Nordstrom-Savvy scarf.

All the wired little flowers

The last several days definitely haven’t been lacking in the “interesting” department. And while I’m frantically trying to put my finger on the pulse, in the noisy background of necessity, there’s distractions-a-plenty. Everything’s bouncing from slow motion and straight into overdrive… rinse and repeat. Backyard get-togetherness, True Blood dvd hunting, Corona with lime, exploring the intricate layers veiled within my Nikon D5000, new poetry/short stories, a thousand and one errands to run, veterinary appointments, Popsicle remedies vs. ridiculous summer scorcher, a pair of lace-up Jeffery Campbell boots, ten submission deadlines, blah-etc.-blah, and then I realize… ohmygod, it’s only Wednesday.
