Catching-up

Many thanks to I-Event for this amazing feature and interview! Read about my journey into art here

Also...

Pretty walls in my art studio, Renoir gazing, dreamy bedroom light, new work in progress (center), past oil paintings (bottom left), throwing a strawberry, spending time in the recording studio... and studying what's perhaps my FAVORITE painting of all time by Rogier van der Weyden (bottom right).
And hey check it out, I'm a drawing! I'm accustomed to creating portraits of other people, so what a surprise to see my own portrait added to another artist's book of love. Thanks, Duke!

And that's what's happening.

Gunmetal Laces

The hillside was far more treacherous than it actually appeared, and even though I didn’t foresee clambering up and down the jagged terrain… my 8-year-old nephew (among others in our brood) got a real kick out of thinking I was some sort of neophyte Pink Power Ranger. Pity I left my blade blaster, metallic armor, and spandex suit at home. Not sure about spandex, but if you and all your friends want to start your own gang of crime fighting superheros, you'll need some matching outfits... something stylish of course.  (RTBU sweater, Topshop skirt and Emma Cook boots)

Around the Museum

Adept to artistic recreation, I wrenched this blue button-down from the retirement section of my closet… evidently, I’ve been on some sort of 007 sewing safari. Sated with a neo-trashy romanticism, its charming DIY imperfection materialized this impromptu photo excursion, even though I should have been working. But from the sun-drenched corners of a museum shop, I rubbed out the shadows of a recent stress purgatory, as the city voice seemed a tangible reawakening. Shirt, DIY (Meadham Kirchhoff inspiration). Satin tap pants, Victoria’s Secret. Bangles, vintage. Heels, N.Y.L.A.

Wonderful Electric

Ambling about the city sidewalks, we inevitably ended up along Delmar, a thoroughfare that extends east to downtown… and quite honestly, one of my favorite places of all-time. The diverse atmosphere that is seriously ready for just about anything, strikes me as impossibly cool and somehow, wickedly entertaining. After several random-friendly conversations, it still amazes me how this jacket can be the topic of such curiosity… maybe it’s the army of blindingly-garish silver studs or the self-exalted shoulder pads that undoubtedly have a mind of their own. But every time, its narcissistic 80’s revival seems to trump all the others left jealously crammed in my closet. Currently: sipping Sangria with good company Mood: breezy (Vintage jacket, Urban Outfitters jeans, Bakers heels, Topshop tee, F21 tank, Nordstrom bag)
