"Haunted" Pouring my feelings into this special new piece for the Copycat Violence: An Artist Collective Ghost Stories show at Penumbra Art Boutique & Studio this June.  Adding all those finishing touches...  High on sunlight in the studio.   And then a bit of grainy evening light, cool breeze, windows opens.  “And the secret garden bloomed and bloomed and every morning revealed new miracles.” - Frances Hodgson Burnett A table for one. In progress- bringing new life to one of my charcoal drawings from 2013.

Sore throat, aches everywhere... but making progress on this piece. She'll be available next month for an auction at  Copycat Violence !  Last weeks's progress. 

Giving this elf the skunk hair she deserves! 

It's hard to believe the first and last time I showed a sneak peek at this new drawing was back in March ... this year is zipping by in a hurry it seems. With every intention, I'm planning to post the finished piece this week, Monday at the absolute latest. Excited for everyone to see it!

It's always exciting to share new artwork, especially after spending hours, days and sometimes weeks mapping through imaginative ideas and all those billowing clouds of charcoal dust. Through this much-needed experiment of breaking the boundaries of my comfort zone, I'm anxious to develop as an artist... and in the same thought, I know that growth takes time. Until then, I'll keep taking small steps towards something bigger.
