Velvet + Sporty

Until I can actually buy all the wonderfully perfect pieces on my wish list, I'm preparing and re-preparing my penchant for velvet boots, pattern coupling, strappy things, baggy things, and lots of effortlessly sporty elements. And overalls, I want overalls! Other stuff:  Please don't forget to vote for my PLNDR Brand Battle Design:  http://bit.ly/SfPaQs

Getting ready for it...

Mixing prints and geometric patterns, arbitrary pops of color, slouchy boyfriend jeans, skinny skinny jeans, cozy sweaters, Wednesday Addams braids, Peter Pan collars, Little House on the Prairie plaids, and pairing it all with flats.   Fall/Winter

Minnie Mouse

I kinda feel like a Disney character anytime polka dots are involved...  (H&M top, Bakers multi-strap buckle pumps~ really good ones here and here , Topshop skater skirt)

Frozen Charlotte

I'm completely infatuated with this German bisque doll rosary that Alex bought for me. Excavated from the ruins of a doll factory that operated between 1890 and 1913, it has such a wistful, melancholy presence as if a voice speaking of its own.   ( Converse , Target fedora, Lover sweatshirt , Vintage belt, DIY vintage Levis cutoffs~ similar style at Free People)

Beach House

The summertime infusion of well-constructed translucent fabric and the right recipe of metallic threads (limiting iridescence so not to be confused with an off-duty figure skater) have long since lined the racks of my closet. Even though I haven't had an opportunity to wear this yet, just seeing sunlight pour through it makes me anticipate a very close friendship. Aptly named, The Beach House Cardigan ... now all I need is a rental in the Hamptons.  So, if you haven't already heard of Sugarlips Apparel and their generous Fashion Blogger Program , you should definitely check it out.

Sometimes I'm shy

Playtime in the studio!  (Current/Elliott pinstripe boyfriend jeans ( really want these ), Bakers sandals, Paris jumper c/o oasap.com )

Prints

Inside coats when it's 80 degrees... this is what messing around looks like. (Vintage slip dress and fax fur, Jeffrey Campbell solvang platform lace up boots, Ring c/o Alex and Vina)

Oliver Twist

I never really tire of scuffed-up vintage boy's shoes that when forced into a long-term relationship with lacy socks makes them ideal for just about anything.

Pretty Persuasion

"This must be what Jane meant by persuasion." Subdued palettes, supple suede, washed denim, and no fuss, no muss simplicity.... definitely my spring-fever wardrobe.  Why does The Outnet have to be so, so good!?

Denim + Denim

Casual shades of denim. (Vintage Levis, DIY feather earrings, relic Gap bag, Jessica Simpson platforms)

Bones + Lace

New light to reflect upon

Rummaging through image folders and reminiscing over arbitrary moments. Sometimes, it's good to look back. Windswept raven, Vintage Lollipops x Magazzini Del Sale Capsule Collection , hazy inside reflections, sheer flora, military tuxedo jackets, fedoras on warmer days, and classic black-white-red combinations always.     (Alexander Wang baggy boaters dress, Jeffrey Campbell Tardy boots ,  Designs by Bella t-shirt , Steve Madden wedge sandals, Forever 21 floral skirt, Alkemie and vintage jewelry, DIY Levi cutoffs, Striped dress c/o Shabby Apple )

Windhaven

I can't remember a time when I felt prettier than the day I finally had the opportunity to wear my  Gondola vintage dress from www.shabbyapple.com . The spirited horizontal stripes offset against such a vibrant emerald bodice renders a Parisian wanderlust meets the Leaning Tower of Pisa aesthetic that's difficult to resist. From The Berkshires to Yosemite and Carousel to Sidesaddle, Shabby Apple is definitely boasting a flare for all things lovely and vintage inspired. Even after perusing a 35,000 square feet antique mall for more hours than I care to admit, the movable fabric and wearablity never let me down. For the next 30 days, my friends at Shabby Apple are offering a 10% discount when you use "vintagelollipops10off" at the checkout! And be sure to 'Like' them on Facebook too so you can receive special promotions and discounts! (Vintage suede bag and rings, Betsey Johnson tights, TJMaxx coat, Gava pumps)

No matter what they might say

I've made it no secret that I'm completely infatuated with the notion of adorning everything with Peter Pan collars. It's basically become the Holy Grail of must-haves... well, that and crushed velvet. And while it probably seems I'm stockpiling for some apocalyptic Victorian lace extinction, I still love the other pretty frocks mingling in my closet. (Vintage and Rodarte for Target)

Long hallways like runways

There's something about certain hotel hallways that remind me of retro runways, and at the same time, lend to such a foreboding atmosphere. For some reason, these were very reminiscent of Stephen King's, The Shining ... every time I turned a corner, I was convinced those wicked twins would be standing at the end of one of them. (BCBGirls sandals, Forever 21 dress, Random shaggy jacket and rings, Vintage rosaries)
