Inspired by Nasty Gal

Remember these Nasty Gal inspired little ladies from last year... some were featured on their blog/tumblr ! Today, they're heading to the $19.99 Holiday Sale and really need good homes!   http://bellaharris.tictail.com/products/sale

Mermaids

They stood at the root of the water’s edge, staring into salty rings of white and vine, Thinking of Rachel. She died last year, when the tides were cold and weary. They won’t go there.   It didn’t seem fair to still love something so beautiful without knowing why. Tattered lace and tiny fingers rest the delicate surface that is creviced by time and wiser than yesterday.  But to love at all seemed to shift the clouds caught in current. Slowly. Softly.   Everything is plagued by the shadows of memory and smells of dusty orange peels. Four slender hands fuse the curve of skinny hip bones as a modicum of silence swallows the air with shards of patterned sunlight. “Don’t worry.”  she said.  “We’ll be mermaids when we grow up.” ~Bella Harris

Charcoal Jacket

(Kate Bosworth for Calvin Klein Jeans ) Meet Kate. This is one of my latest charcoal/pencil drawings and first attempt at minimalistic style that requires not only concentrated patience on my part, but also some pretty meticulous shading. Totally worth it in the end... . Check out these great prints, skins, tees, and hoodies now  available ! Please promote it on Society6 !

no matter what happens, you'll always be mysterious

Agenda: Finish current drawing, the second in the Limited Edition Snow Series, upload a gazillion holiday images, upload a gazillion other images that are probably dusty by now, update and e-mail, conceptualize and implement new collaborations, editorial column, and upcoming features, hang new wall decor, fearlessly attempt to tackle the realms of my disorganized closet by creating a more cohesive space with black velvet hangers, play with new Christmas presents including art supplies and Canon PowerShot I'm super excited about, and finally.... make the rest of my impossibly-long errand list seem probable by the end of the week.
