New Drawing † Sookie Stackhouse

In honor of my favorite HBO series ending last night, I created this little Sookie Stackhouse Blythe doll drawing!   Half-blythe and half-human, this telepathic waitress with golden locks and big eyes is ready to take on the southern mayhem of Merlotte's Bar & Grill, one brazen customer at a time. Bon Tulips is teeming with supernaturals as danger lurks deep within the shadows of this small dollhouse town. With a dash of romance and a pinch of curiosity, sh e falls for a mysterious vampire Garbage Pail Kid named Billy Compost-pile and soon her life will change forever.   Sookie needs a good home and someone to make sure she stays out of trouble. Will it be you?  Buy the original 8.5 x 11" ooak drawing at Saatchi Art . Prints & goodies available in my society6 shop .

Bewitched Available

Spent the last several days working on new photography, readying fun collaborations, constructing in-home gyms, reporting art thieves and updating the shop... so many exciting and strange things going on, it feels like my head is spinning. What a week it's been. Happy Friday!  'Bewitched' available http://society6.com/bellaharris

Studying

Four meticulous hours into my study on photo realism. Phew, long way to go!

Complication

I want you to view this particular piece with your own interpretations, so I'll try to refrain from spending too much time illuminating the significance. But as evident during my creative process, its artistic arsenal is largely driven by a societal expectation of vanity, aging, beauty and extremes.

Vintage Lollipops on Instagram

Don't forget to check out all the fun progress art I put on Instagram ... in a lot of ways, it's like spending an afternoon in my studio. Happy weekend, everyone!

Always in motion

One of my continuing goals as an artist is to study, become skilled at and eventually develop a strong sense of realism to my work. While there are, inevitably, times when this buoyant endeavor seems pretty far-fetched, I know it's not impossible. So, I'll just keep doing what I can until then...  and here's a peek at what I've been working on! Hope you're having a fun weekend!

Drawing Stages

I actually finished this piece the other day but wanted to share, as I generally do, the progression of work. Can't wait to show you the finished piece.

In progress illustration

You know I love sharing progress shots, so here's a first look into what will hopefully become a small series of illustrations. I'm super excited and can't wait to share the finished piece! Happy weekend, everyone!
