Studio Happenings

Practically a rare phenomenon in my art studio, here's a look at what's happening. Honestly, as eager as I am to become better skilled at photography, and then snap everything in sight, actually taking time to photograph my artwork is one of my few areas of procrastination, oddly enough. Sometimes I just prefer moving ahead to the next project, but what must be done eventually might as well be done today.

I'm so lazy when it comes to taking nice pictures of my art for the blog. I end up snapping a quick photo with my phone and using that. Horrible, I know! lol

Designs by Bella: Vintage Lollipops x Magazzini del Sale Capsule Collection

Last year, Italian designer Graziano Moro of Magazzini Del Sale contacted me about collaborating and designing a five-piece Limited Edition capsule collection for their SS 11 Love Can Change the World t-shirt line. Having never been given such an incredibly surreal opportunity before, you can imagine my absolute surprise... followed by some sort of psychotic jubilation. At the time, I'd only been drawing for about a month, which means the designs you're seeing are some of my very first artworks! A Harness to Hold Me

After months of insatiable cyber-stalking, I finally spotted the Sam Edelman vaulted wonders, and self-restraint immediately spider-webbed into an inextricable pursuit. A victim to the hunt, I admit, my initial reaction could easily be perceived as semi-ridiculous panic. Naturally, I called the momma bear. And even as her ritualized shopping excursion unfolded, she elicited a rather piercing squeal through the telephone receiver, which undoubtedly created a bevy of stares among the crowded grocery store aisles. Like a little devil perched high upon my right shoulder, she urged me to buy them… evidently an advocate to my daringly unapologetic platform fetish. A silent negotiation yanked me from reverie, and a minute later, Ben called verifying my bootstrapped harness wishes would soon be one among my closet’s legion.
