The Perfect Winter Sweater

Like anyone else, there are times when I find myself probing internet wish lists or weaving up and down every thrift store and vintage boutique aisle in pursuit of that certain something. As if a newly given mission to locate and devour a particular print, dining room accent table, antique wall art or that shade of turquoise you saw in a magazine once and, now, can no longer live without, these quests can be daunting and never-ending. As silly as it sounds, my recent certain something was to find the perfect reindeer and snowflake sweater, new or vintage need not apply, it didn't even matter. Then as luck would have it, Rosewholesale contacted me for collaboration and there it was... a darling little deer sweater. I couldn't believe it!

Rosewholesale is a leading international online clothing store that focuses on affordable styles in both attire and accessories for men and women. With an extensive selection of coats, sweaters, tops and dresses, it's clear they aim to please their customers with low prices while offering quality products and dedicated service. When my product for review arrived, I was eager to assess the cut, shape and fabric in relationship to their incredibly low prices. I immediately noticed and appreciated the cozy aesthetic and well-crafted attention to detail. I went with a larger size when originally selecting my item of choice (good thing because it was smaller than expected) and still would've preferred a bigger cut for a more draped cardigan look, but overall I'd say my item certainly didn't disappoint. It's adorable and I'm so happy it's found a new home in my closet! Many thanks go out to Cherry and the wonderful team over at Rosewholesale for making my winter sweater assignment a little less difficult and a whole lot cuter.

The Body

You can barely see it in the last post , so here's a clearer picture of   what I've been working on in my new art studio... not that it hasn't come with little stop your heart stress moments.   The first time I attempted this piece, now referred to as The Body , was mutually as terrifying as it was exhilarating. It was the first full hand drawing I'd ever attempted, and everything was going smoothly until the moment I decided to incorporate oil paint, also the first in my artwork experiences. My grandmother was an award-winning artist, but now, without her wealth of knowledge and go-to advise, this is really a learning/teach yourself process. The drawing was done and exactly how I wanted it, the hair and tights were painted, and the final stages involved adding skin and the completion of the tattoos.   I didn't go in naively, I understood that it would inevitably boil down to the dynamics of trial and error, so I inhaled deeply and began creating my palette. Oil Landscape Paintings

I'm so excited for this new creative direction. I'll still be creating watercolor portraits and the like but for now I feel this calling and it feels like home. If you like landscapes and botanicals, I'd love for you to follow my account @agardenhome - where I'll be sharing a more curated look at my landscape oil paintings, as well as my home design, renovation journey, and garden things.
