If we lived inside a snow globe: blizzard '11 photo diary

The St. Louis metropolitan area has experienced some of the most talked about weather since the blizzard in 1982. But I'm reminded that one of the funniest memories of this winter snowstorm inevitably comes from seeing me Carrie Bradshaw-gallivant in vintage fur and pajama pants through sleet and snow trying to capture every whimsical moment. In fact, the quote of the night was, "Kinda looks like we're vacationing in Narnia." And it really did.
Watching the steady snowfall seemed to play homage to every Norman Rockwell painting I'd ever seen and the entire thing was starting to feel as if I lived inside a snow globe. It wasn't long until Governor Jay Nixon declared a state of emergency and subsequently activated the Missouri National Guard in preparation of this severe weather. While we were fortunate enough to bypass the remarkable 22" snow approximates, we did, however, see towering snowdrifts, several inches of layered ice, and wind gust so commanding that I'll end up driving to The Home Depot to buy a new mailbox... since mine is now lounging in the frozen driveway.

I love these, girlfriend!! These second shot is awesome. Everything's awesome. Love the Winkle and Chloeation Nation pictures, and of course the boyfriend-related pictures. And I'm a big fan of the third-from-the-end B&W. Wish we could cuddle up right now!

Wild Thing... I think I love you

When a quasi-sporadic jaunt had us regaling any amount of apathy, my lax interpretation of frugality was tested. I was supposed to be Christmas shopping, but the slightest notion only manifested a spending floodgate that swung wide-open… breaching all self-discipline. So there I was, attempting a silent negotiation, yes-no-no-yes. And just like that, the holier-than-thou shoe gods had me by Gheppetto ’s strings, and were yet again exultant. In every conceivable ( shoe predicament ) way, it seemed a publicized threat to some bizzarro stylistic-existence, and obviously some things are beyond control. In the silver lining, there’s an upside to this inadvertent gluttony because these powerhouse Maryjane’s--with their patent leather and subtle contrasting edge--will always be there, for all those untamed days ahead. Seriously, there's more to me than just savage kicks... but in the words of Carrie Bradshaw, I suppose one day, "I will literally be the woman who lived
