"Dahling, we should have a tea party and get frightfully fancy."

Things about this set of photos that make me smile: Silver glitter nail polish and body dust, Alex and Vina necklace courtesy of the ever-gorgeous Jeanine, Jeffrey Campbell Fab Lita platforms (thank you to the team over at whatapair.com for the incredible discount!), and last but hardly least, the UNIF shearling coat I couldn't resist upon spotting it at Nasty Gal Vintage.
Other random factoids: We spent all of twelve (that's right, twelve) minutes taking these because it was only 20 degrees outside, this is the warmest coat in the universe, the Christmas lights are from my neighbor's house who are used to me frolicking about in front of the camera, after turning into a Popsicle we went to Starbucks, had the tastiest gingerbread latte, headed to Target, was thoroughly grossed-out when I saw a woman in the restroom *cough cough* forget to wash her hands, winced, washed mine twice, then overspent on stocking stuffers.

Litas come in floral print?! Too bad that I'd probably never get a pair. I don't think I'd be able to walk in them lol.

The Carousel Ride

A little storytelling... A modicum of silence swallowed the room as dusty shards of sunlight patterned the multicolored carpet. Decorated with an army of garish jewelry, everything jingles, almost intentionally, as the woman perched behind the large candy counter brushes invisible lint from her blouse. Her silvery hair is the color of cotton candy. She offers a genuine smile before shifting her gaze downcast towards her slender hands. Briefly, she examines their delicate surface that is creviced by time and wiser than yesterday. At four quarters per ride, it was a small price for six minutes of uncontaminated childhood reminiscence to sweep the memory warehouse. And while we kept the company of an epoch 1920’s carousel, 60 handcrafted horses, and funky reindeer, we went round and round, faster and faster… letting it take us to those secret places we almost forgot existed. --Bella H. p.s. The Writing Wall

Affronted by a (practically) nonexistent warning sign, the weather-beaten plastic dangling idly from a nearby telephone pole, clearly stated, Private Property . Even though our previous attempt at this location resulted in a prying patrol car… the graffiti mural, a derelict carcass of a once prominent amusement park, was obviously too wicked to pass blindly. Sprinting around with certain schoolgirl giddiness, the ridiculous amount of camerawhoring was starting to feel like some new Olympic sport. But before finally fleeing the scene, we noticed the black and red letters smeared across the far right side of the building that perhaps claimed an excuse to previous visitors. ' The Devil Made Me Do It' . Disturbing to small degrees, it did seem outwardly apropos to our deviant trespassing acquisition… our forbidden spray paint entertainment. The Ties That Bind

I approached the various strands of rope gingerly, and while I spent much of the first day staring hypnotically, in what can only be referred to as a highly suggestive state of uber-confusion, I finally put the rope overlay under enemy control. I figured it would be a pragmatic undertaking, you know, some sort of therapeutic magic potion to lousy days. But all that insatiable weaving, knotting, tying, looping, and wrapping was seriously blowing my mind. After three weeks of (literally) getting caught up and tousled in something that ultimately looked like nothing, I was beginning to have my doubts. But in the end, the DIY project from hell was a veritable triumph as I kicked its sweet little nautical ass into the alpha dog of my closet. Awesome side note: I was stoked to be contacted by the ever-lovely Mimi for Fashion Idol of the Week , so if you haven’t already seen it, please check out my interview … it’s INCREDIBLE!
