Somewhere in the shades

I have a certain type of relationship with my sunglasses. You know, they let me obsess then subsequently toss them on the passenger seat, love them until setting them aside because I've chosen a sister pair instead, and then eventually orbit back... loving and obsessing all over again. But sunglasses have a way of transforming your style aesthetic, which means one pair is never enough. This theory might be interlaced with the need to inundate my shopping cart with cat eyes and wayfarers each time I browse ShadesDaddy.com. Established in 2007, they're one of the largest online retailers of sunglasses, and have it all when it comes to name brand sunglasses... they even a celebrity category!
When the president of the company, Brian Nelson, contacted me, I was absolutely thrilled to be collaborating with such an amazing team. Taking pride in not only a customer satisfaction that's flawlessly pioneered (or the fact that items arrive carefully packaged), they also boast an authenticity guarantee throughout an impressive collection of designers ranging from Bogetta Venetta, Marc Jacobs, Ray-Ban, Gucci, Chloe, and many more! This pair is so delicious!

Cherokee | Drawing Progress

As a woman of esteemed Cherokee ancestry, I've wanted to express and create a more spiritual atmosphere to my art for a long time. One that specifically depicts my bloodline... the strength, courage and exemplary virtues of some of the women I've been fortunate enough to know in my life.
“The Cherokees did not separate spiritual and physical realms but regarded them as one, and they practiced their religion in a host of private daily observances as well as in public ceremonies.”

New Drawing ▲The Main Light

It's always exciting to share new artwork, especially after spending hours, days and sometimes weeks mapping through imaginative ideas and all those billowing clouds of charcoal dust. Through this much-needed experiment of breaking the boundaries of my comfort zone, I'm anxious to develop as an artist... and in the same thought, I know that growth takes time. Until then, I'll keep taking small steps towards something bigger.
The Main Light, is the second drawing in a new collection I've been diligently creating. Don't forget to look back on the first piece, Silent Forest, as well as thesneak peek I shared the other day!
