Underneath it all

Sometimes, it's what you can't outwardly see about an outfit that makes a woman feel sexy and confident. It's the way she carries herself, poised and certain. The subtle smile that tells you she just might have a secret... and the truth is that sometimes, you just can't skimp when it comes to accessorizing with lingerie.
So when Rebecca of Lingerie Please contacted me with the opportunity to review some of their gorgeous products, I took one look at their website and couldn't refuse! And I was absolutely thrilled when my new Henry Holland Chain Suspender Tights and Gossard Esprit set arrived! What I love about this amazing, specialty retailer is not only are they completely dedicated to customer satisfaction, but the fact that they hand pick each item so that you're always presented with product excellence and price assurance makes them unparalleled. With brands like Wolford, Henry Holland, Spanx, St. Tropez, and Gossard, they also offer bridal lingerie, international shipping, effortless return polices, and 24 hours a day order tracking. So go ahead and transform your look, and your mood, because Lingerie Please makes luxury affordable for every shape and size.
Visit them on Twitter!

p.s. I'm heading out of town tomorrow (yaaaay) and have a five-hour train ride (eeeek) to Kansas City, so I anticipate plenty of writing, doodling, reading, trance-like window gazing, and drawing to keep me occupied. And I'm meeting Alex's parents for the first time!!

The Body

You can barely see it in the last post , so here's a clearer picture of   what I've been working on in my new art studio... not that it hasn't come with little stop your heart stress moments.   The first time I attempted this piece, now referred to as The Body , was mutually as terrifying as it was exhilarating. It was the first full hand drawing I'd ever attempted, and everything was going smoothly until the moment I decided to incorporate oil paint, also the first in my artwork experiences. My grandmother was an award-winning artist, but now, without her wealth of knowledge and go-to advise, this is really a learning/teach yourself process. The drawing was done and exactly how I wanted it, the hair and tights were painted, and the final stages involved adding skin and the completion of the tattoos.   I didn't go in naively, I understood that it would inevitably boil down to the dynamics of trial and error, so I inhaled deeply and began creating my palette. Jeffrey Campbell x Solestruck Box It Up

I bet many of you heard about (or even entered) the Jeffrey Campbell x Solestruck Box It Up challenge that took place last month that's giving one lucky person the opportunity to score $1000 worth of JC shoes and be the inspiration for the next shoebox design. And while I think they're still in the process of narrowing down three top finalists to display via their Facebook page for voters to decide the grand winner, I thought I'd take a second and share my entry with you! About my design: When I first learned of the challenge via e-mail, I got super excited at the prospect of designing and illustrating something that would appeal to the masses amongst our little shoe-obsessed demographic. I get asked a lot of interesting questions regarding my own shoe collection, so I spent the afternoon rummaging through the multicolored stacks of shoeboxes and paying particular attention the many labeled Jeffrey Campbell. The search for inspiration wasn’t difficult, and soon I knew ex
