Wonderful Electric

Ambling about the city sidewalks, we inevitably ended up along Delmar, a thoroughfare that extends east to downtown… and quite honestly, one of my favorite places of all-time. The diverse atmosphere that is seriously ready for just about anything, strikes me as impossibly cool and somehow, wickedly entertaining. After several random-friendly conversations, it still amazes me how this jacket can be the topic of such curiosity… maybe it’s the army of blindingly-garish silver studs or the self-exalted shoulder pads that undoubtedly have a mind of their own. But every time, its narcissistic 80’s revival seems to trump all the others left jealously crammed in my closet. Currently: sipping Sangria with good company Mood: breezy (Vintage jacket, Urban Outfitters jeans, Bakers heels, Topshop tee, F21 tank, Nordstrom bag)

Damn Skippy

The weekend’s quickly winding down, and while I’m still heavily engaged in the stack of papers just left of my laptop, I wanted to take a moment and send very special thanks to Oniomania , Luphia Loves... , out of the mist , Iole in fashion , and RETROMUS-IK for so awesomely thinking of me and sending a few blog awards my way. Thank you so much, you’re incredible! xxx Arbitrary side note: For the last three days, I’ve been living in these red-hot Chloé boots… we’ve become shamelessly inseparable, but seriously, my ankles have never been happier.

Last Night

I'm actually loving the duet denim... (Converse tank- UO tank underneath, Steve Madden sandals, Target jacket with added Mongolian faux fur collar, F21 jeans)

From the Darkside

I’m still musing over the undeniably mysterious and whimsical elements, but looking at these images really makes me hungry for a vampire ring. (Style, Raven Eve, Lanvin-Popsugar, Gareth Pugh-Browns, Bittersweets NY, Photobucket, Numéro)

And then the spell was cast

It’s a bit unsettling the degrees to which I pined for these boots, but when Chloé decided to morph their fall 07 ready-to-wear collection into some angry-girl with mortal combats… I just couldn’t resist the very lucid temptation. And after waiting rather impatiently to watch them work a little black magic , I can finally justify their funky charisma that really is simply irresistible. *Midway through the photo brigade, we got a bit loopy and then couldn’t settle on favorites… so ode to pictures galore, we're still not camera virgins* (VS hoodie, Topshop tank, Steve Madden studded belt, Vintage Levi's-DIY shred/studded pockets, Chloe boots, ebay sunglasses)

Gunmetal Laces

The hillside was far more treacherous than it actually appeared, and even though I didn’t foresee clambering up and down the jagged terrain… my 8-year-old nephew (among others in our brood) got a real kick out of thinking I was some sort of neophyte Pink Power Ranger. Pity I left my blade blaster, metallic armor, and spandex suit at home. Not sure about spandex, but if you and all your friends want to start your own gang of crime fighting superheros, you'll need some matching outfits... something stylish of course.  (RTBU sweater, Topshop skirt and Emma Cook boots)

Everbody Gets Random

Just another batch of random photos... xxx

The Ties That Bind

I approached the various strands of rope gingerly, and while I spent much of the first day staring hypnotically, in what can only be referred to as a highly suggestive state of uber-confusion, I finally put the rope overlay under enemy control. I figured it would be a pragmatic undertaking, you know, some sort of therapeutic magic potion to lousy days. But all that insatiable weaving, knotting, tying, looping, and wrapping was seriously blowing my mind. After three weeks of (literally) getting caught up and tousled in something that ultimately looked like nothing, I was beginning to have my doubts. But in the end, the DIY project from hell was a veritable triumph as I kicked its sweet little nautical ass into the alpha dog of my closet. Awesome side note: I was stoked to be contacted by the ever-lovely Mimi for Fashion Idol of the Week , so if you haven’t already seen it, please check out my interview … it’s INCREDIBLE! And special thanks go out to Alex of aliens...
